Labs

On monday in class, my group and I worked on our circuit project. We've agreed that we'll have it done for sure by winter break. We also agreed that we'll be meeting up at Ploy's house on the weekend to work on the diagram of the house. My task is to help out with everything, but my main focus is the written part.

In addition, I saw that my lab's have been checked now. So, there will be a little change in my plan. On the weekend, on saturday and sunday I will be looking over them all and re-doing them. I will make sure not to make the same mistakes again. I've noticed that my main problem lies with the fact that I can't write a good enough research question. In addition, I didn't include uncertainties in my conclusion.

Circuits Quiz

Today, I worked on the circuits quiz. I got a 100% on the first attempt, but I'll have to admit, I was a bit lucky. I would say I knew the answers to about 7/10 of the questions on there for sure. However, there were some where I just guessed and luck was in my favour. The one's I need to better understand I think are concepts with parallel circuits. Maybe I should watch a few more videos. In addition to taking the quiz, today I got a bit of a better idea as to how I'm going to approach the circuit project. I'm still a little confused as to how i'm going to start. However, I have a clearer picture now then I did at the beginning of the day.

Week 4 day 1

Today I was going to work on investigation 1. However, it wasn't ready as the magnets weren't here. So, I decided to take the ohm's law quiz as well as work on some practice problems for today. The ohm's law quiz was pretty easy however, I had trouble finding the current in parallel circuits when voltage and ohm's were given. I found out that to do this you have to take all the ohm's values and put them over 1. For example if you have: 17, 11, and 6. You will do 1/17 + 1/11 + 1/6. You will then take the reciprocal of the answer and divide with the voltage to get the total amps in the circuit. I will now work on my circuit project first and complete that before i start magnetism.
